Milling salvaged local logs instead of sourcing lumber from faraway places gives us new appreciation for the distinctive grain, color and texture of the woods from our own city. We primarily craft our computer stands from Urban wood, incorporating a strong and stable birch plywood in some pieces.
Perhaps hearing a distant chainsaw buzz reminds you of climbing trees during childhood or the time a family member stood knee deep in a hole planting a sapling. Eventually, those trees can become mulch, firewood or a quality wood product. Urban wood is the name for downed trees that we salvage for their highest purpose.
